John graduated from Queen’s University Faculty of Law in 2014 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015. Prior to starting McIntyre Szabo PC, John was a law student at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (2012), a judicial law clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario (2015-2016), a lawyer in the Health Law Group of Borden Ladner Gervais (2016-2022) and a solo practitioner in McIntyre Health Law (2022-2023). John has been recognized as “One to Watch” by the Best Lawyers in Canada for the last three years.

John recently obtained his Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland (2022) with a concentration in Health Leadership and Management and a certificate in LGBTQ Public Health. He also interned at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, one of the Top 10 health systems in the US, where he gained a greater understanding of the inner workings of a health system. John is an Adjunct Lecturer for the upper year course in Public Health Law at Queen’s University.

As an out gay man, John uses his platform as a lawyer to be an advocate for the 2SLGBTQ+ community, especially where it intersects with access to healthcare. John is an active member of the Legal Issues Committee of Egale Canada.

Jessica graduated first in her class at Bond University, where she specialised in human rights and international criminal law.  Prior to studying law, Jessica worked with female offenders detained in a secure forensic hospital in England while completing her Masters (MSc) in Forensic Mental Health. Jessica then worked with hospitals in England to improve outcomes and promote better integrated care for people with mental health needs.

After completing her law degree, Jessica worked at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands working as a Legal Consultant to the defence team of Mr. Jean-Pierre Bemba. She returned to Toronto to complete her articles at the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health and went on to become Legal Counsel. Jessica was previously an associate in the Health Law Group at Borden Ladner Gervais.

Prior to creating the firm, Jessica worked as Legal Counsel at Ontario Health providing dedicated legal support to the Mental Health Centre of Excellence, Trillium Gift of Life Network, the Indigenous Affairs Unit, Home Care Modernization projects, and other general corporate support as needed.

Prior to her career as a lawyer, Anne worked for the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario (“PARO”), where she assisted medical residents with their educational and professional needs during residency training.

Anne graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2019 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020.  Prior to joining McIntyre Szabo PC, Anne primarily worked in professional regulation.

Anne completed her articles with the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (“OMVIC”) where she defended a constitutional challenge to the organization’s legislation in addition to appearing at Small Claims Court and Provincial Offences Court. Anne also acted as prosecutor and general counsel to the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, where she advised the organization on a myriad of day-to-day matters. She then worked at a boutique firm that defends regulated professionals, where she represented physicians, nurses, massage therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, engineers, lawyers and law students in investigations, disciplinary proceedings and appeals.

Anne is a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and sits on the Board of Directors for a local women’s shelter.
